Rug size guide

Find the right fit for your space. Start with your furniture layout, then measure the area you want your rug to cover.

Compare rug sizes

SizeDimensions
Small160 × 230 cm
Medium200 × 290 / 200 × 300 cm
Large240 × 330 cm
Extra large280 × 380 cm
Oversized300 × 400 cm

Sizes are a guide and vary by collection. Choose from the sizes listed on this product. A 200 × 300 cm rug is 10 cm longer than a 200 × 290 cm rug.

Measure before you choose

  1. Measure your furniture setting. Include nearby chairs and room to move.
  2. Mark the rug outline. Use floor-safe removable tape or sheets of paper.
  3. Test your layout. Open doors, pull chairs back and check walkways.

Placement by room

Living room

Let the rug connect the seating group. Position its long edge parallel to the main sofa, with the sofa’s front legs and the coffee table on the rug. Include the front legs of nearby armchairs where the layout allows.

  • Compact layout: begin with 160 × 230 cm.
  • Standard seating group: compare 200 × 290 cm and 200 × 300 cm.
  • Larger lounge: consider 240 × 330 cm or an oversized option.

Placement tip: check that the rug reaches beyond the sofa on both sides. A rug sitting only beneath the coffee table can make the seating feel disconnected.

Bedroom

Place the rug beneath the lower part of the bed, leaving a comfortable landing on each side and at the foot. Measure the bed frame itself, including any upholstered surround.

  • Smaller beds: compare 160 × 230 cm and the medium sizes.
  • Queen or king beds: compare 240 × 330 cm and larger options against the actual frame.

Placement tip: aim for around 50 cm or more of exposed rug beside the bed where space allows. Check that the foot of the bed does not finish right on the rug’s edge.

Dining room

Size the rug for the table and the chairs in use. Chair legs should stay on the rug when someone pulls their chair back to sit down.

  • Allow roughly 60–80 cm beyond each table edge, then test with your own chairs.
  • Rectangular table: match the rug’s orientation to the table.

A quick example: a 100 × 180 cm table with 70 cm clearance on every side needs a rug at least 240 × 320 cm. A 240 × 330 cm rug is a size to test against that layout.
